Course Costs: Money to be paid at park.
Course runs Four weekly (please follow the link to book your spot), Us Academy Training Fee $20 per skater, per lesson
This is an exclusive group of skaters who are interested in becoming the best skaters at the park or in their school as fast as possible.
We have a well developed course and our instructors will work through a Trick Book with you and once you have landed a trick cleanly three times it will be signed off.
The Us Academy is a guaranteed way to improve.
THE PROGRAM:
This Us Academy is a 4 week program that is ongoing and simple for everyone involved.
Skaters will be split into groups each day based on ability and taught something for that day. Us Skate Team rider will also instructor from time to time. We have two instructors who have a lot of experience skateboarding and can help you progress; more may be added if required.
Each month is limited to 18 people so places and strictly limited. You will only be able to start at the beginning of the program. 1ST IN 1ST SERVED! THIS OFTEN SELLS OUT!
We will have one Coaching day per week. This will be Sundays 9.00am – 11.00am. Lessons will be held at Orewa Skate park at this stage.
We have teamed up with the HBC Youth Centre to offer toilet facilities, gear storage and shelter should the weather turn bad. During the lesson times we will be 100% responsible for the skaters.

PLEASE NOTE MINIMUM AGE 8 YEARS UNLESS PREVIOUSLY APPROVED.
CHEAP WAREHOUSE OR SIMILAR SKATEBOARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ACCEPANCE INTO THE Us SKATE PROGRAM
Please note this form is an application and can not a guarantee you will be accepted for the Us Academy.
Places are on a first in first served basis. Those who miss out will be placed on a waiting list. (Sorry that includes Siblings as well, we have limits on the numbers per instructor.)
Guardian ship of Students will only be taken over the period of the stated lesson times. Parents should make sure their kids are collected on time unless they are comfortable to leave them at the park
Should anyone pull out for any reason there will be NO REFUNDS. At least 48 Hours Notice MUST be given going to
The Program is on Rain or shine. Should we get really bad luck with the weather we will look at having a special day. If you miss a lesson for any reason no refund for that day will be given as it’s a monthly program.
This Us program is about helping young skaters progress and make some really good friends. It is important to us everyone understands our conditions so this is enjoyable for everyone.
The Us program is for serious skateboarders who have the goal to be the best. We will not accept anyone into the program who has a skateboard in poor repair or is substandard from the likes of the Warehouse, Farmers, K Mart or the like. These are not skateboards they just look like them. They’re impossible to progress on. The minimum we will accept is a board the same quality that we sell.
All students are encouraged to wear safety pads and helmets. You should purchase these. We will supply them on occasions but cannot guarantee good fit.
If you or your child has a Medical Condition the Child MUST know how to handle it and the Guardian MUST discuss with the Instructor. All medicine MUST be supplied.
INSTRUCTORS – Our instructors are passionate about skateboarding that’s why they are helping out. They are not to be approached for lessons and asked to teach tricks etc in their own free time when that are at the park. Everyone involved needs to respect this and we ask that parents make sure their kids know that lesson time is lesson time. Other times that they see the instructor at the park is there time to skate, relax and have fun. By all means they will be friendly and hang out but do not expect them to be constant guardians or give ongoing lessons.
Bullying and hassling will not be tolerated in any way and any skater on the academy will be given one warning then removed from the program with no refund. Their Guardians will be informed why.
Cancellation of any course later than a week prior to it starting will incur a $30 cancellation fee. We also cannot transfer any prebooked applications to different courses without 2 weeks notice before the changed course starts or we will have to treat it as a cancellation.

Underground was started in 1997 by Nick Humphreys from a car boot.
After studying Marketing for 18 months he flagged his tertiary studies. Sick of doing assignments on bogus companies, he drew down his student loan money buying skate gear and printing tees. "I started with $3000, a wad of stickers, flyers, 10 tees friends had designed, 15 decks my brother and I imported from the USA and my homework desk".
Since then, Underground Skate has become US, specialising in Surf, Skate and Fashion.
Underground has always been about ‘our community’, hence the name US. It represents us, the ‘jackass’ generation of young people who like to have fun, push the rules and enjoy our lives.

Underground has stayed true to its roots since its inception with a consistent, and solid Skate range available at all times.
Being situated right next to the water in Orewa beach, just North of Auckland, it was inevitable for Underground to move into water sports and bring both Surf, SUP and Foil into the fold in recent years. Since then Underground has continued to be owned and operated by a tight knit crew of passionate surfers and skaters who all share a true love for standing sideways.

All items are packaged with extreme care, under CCTV surveillance. As freight is handled by third parties, we advise you to thoroughly inspect your Good(s) for damage in transit prior to acceptance. By attesting your signature, you are confirming possession and accept your Good(s) as received.
Parcels are not collected on weekends, so orders received after 1pm Friday will be shipped the following Monday or available for 'click and collect' from our store that is open weekend. (Please confirm your order is ready before driving to the store.)

CUSTOMS AND DUTY CHARGES

International orders may be subject to local charges. Any customs or import duties and associated fees are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.
Underground Surf cannot be held responsible for any additional charges on your order, nor can we accept a return of the order in this case.
Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so please contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse to pay these charges your parcel may be abandoned, and Underground Surf will not be held responsible for any loss of funds as a result of this occurrence. We cannot mark International orders as a gift in order to bypass or reduce any customs fees. This is an illegal practice and as an established business we will not do this.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
- If you are returning a Free Freight item for a Cash Refund, we will not refund our freight cost, which is a minimum of $10 or what you were charged. Even if you qualified for free freight.
- We will not accept any claim for damage on any surfboard or sup after this has been signed by the customer. Inspect before signing.
- We will not refund on any finance sale this includes laybuy, Afterpay or Q Card. We will only allow exchange or credit unless there is a mistake at our end in shipping or stock holding. If you select a prebook item we will not refund until after 7 days of the notified order date.
- We will not accept returns of any sort from any international order.
- We will cover the cost of return freight from our store to you on one exchange for size. Any further exchange in size will be charged at freight cost + $10 handling fee. We will not offer a refund after an exchange of size has taken place. This Excludes Surf / Sup boards, surf bags and international orders.
- Should there be a miss-pick, the wrong item sent, the item is faulty, or the description/image is significantly wrong we will cover freight costs both ways or provide a refund.
- Should you select an item that is marked as 'Pre-Book In XXX' and pay by Afterpay or Laybuy a 5% cancellation fee will apply that covers our costs if you cancel this because you did not read it correctly.
- By selecting any item that is marked as Pre-Book you allow a grace period of 14 days from the original date before we will offer a refund.
- Any item returned to us without swing tags, with pricing removed, or not 100% as it was shipped out to you will have a restocking fee of 10-30% depending on how that item is returned. This will be at our discretion.
- We will not accept returns for any 'In Warehouse' customer order. This stock would have been brought in at a significant cost to meet your order.
- We will not be responsible for any change of address that takes place after the order is processed. We will provide you the tracking details to contact the courier and arrange this.
- We will not be responsible for the loss of any parcel where there is a shipping request to leave in a place, doorstep etc. Once the courier says it is delivered any claim for anything missing item will be between yourself and the courier company.
- We will not issue any refund in the event of a delayed courier unless we are informed that it must be to you by a certain date and time. We cannot be responsible for lack or planning on your behalf.
- We will provide courier details and tracking information upon sending the order. This is your responsibility to track this and ensure it comes. We are happy to assist but you must email us the order number.
- Any special courier charges such as Saturday delivery or Rural delivery excess will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Returns will ONLY be accepted via our online portal. Any damage or loss of any returned item is at your risk. We strongly advise having it tracked and signed for.
- Sale or Combo surfboards and sups will incur extra freight charges that match our cost prices for this. We will make contact with you. Items over 7'6 in length can only be sent to local main center depots. We cannot send these to Rural Delivery addresses. Home addresses will incur a surcharge.
